5. OPI Dip Powder Collection

OPI is a household name in the U.S. Chances are, you’ll open up your nail polish drawer and see at least a few OPI nail polishes mingling with the other brands. However, OPI isn’t just a nail polish company anymore now that they’ve expanded to acrylic, chrome powder, nail care, gel polish, professional salon tools, and nail dipping powder. The best part? OPI products are manufactured in North Carolina, supporting our country’s economy. However, OPI is owned by parent company Coty, a beauty giant that is notorious for testing on animals. Because of this, OPI tests on animals, too, and isn’t cruelty-free, which is why it’s at the bottom of our list. They do have a small vegan polish collection that is cruelty-free, but that’s just not good enough for us.
OPI only offers its dip powders and liquids to professional nail techs on their website, but you can find dip powder sets available to general consumers on 3rd party websites. The OPI Dip Powder Combo contains a base coat, activator, top coat, and one color of dip powder which is currently on sale for $73.80. You can also buy 1.5oz colors separately for $20.50, which is pricier than some other brands that are also cruelty-free and vegan. The powders are generally pretty well-reviewed, and customers seem happy with their purchases. There are only 28 powder colors available, and they’re all purple, pink, or nude shades. There are ten sets, each with the same liquids but a different color. These powders are great for somebody who likes more natural, neutral colors rather than playing around with all the shades of the rainbow.
4. Allure Beauty Design Double Dip Sets

You probably have never heard of the Double Dip brand, but you should. These nail dip systems are some of the most-purchased on Amazon, and the majority of the reviews are glowing. Allure Beauty Design creates a lot of nail products, from nail art stickers to acrylic liquids. These dip powder sets are affordable, and there are a few options at your disposal. Plus, they are made in Texas and California, USA, in their laboratories. What kicks this brand a step ahead of OPI is that they are cruelty-free AND vegan, plus way cheaper. By no means are these dipping powders handmade or really even from a small business, but this could be a great option for a beginner with a small budget.
The Amazon listing has a few different selections for you to choose from. The landing page takes you to their dip liquids set, which has a 2-in-1 bond&base, an activator, a diamond top coat, and a brush cleaner to tackle cross-contamination. This set will run you $25. Not bad! They have three powder sets with six colors each that run for $24 or $25. The homepage of the store boasts over 2000 colors, but we can’t find more than the 18 listed. They don’t have another webpage listed. They have a neon, glitter, and a neutral color set, so there is something for everybody. However, there aren’t any unique colors, and the packaging could use some work. They also have a pink-themed removal kit for both hands and feet, so that’s pretty cool! The set comes with ten fingernail covers, ten toenail covers, some cuticle pushers, lint-free wipes, six nail files, and a nail scrub brush.
3. Revel Nail Dip Powder Starting Kit

Revel Nail is an up-and-coming nail company that specializes in all things nail. They have nail polishes, gel polishes, nail tools, various sets, and acrylic/dip powders. They even have something called ‘Revel+,’ a monthly subscription that gets you free shipping the entire month for only $4. Revel Nail products are made in New Jersey, USA, and are vegan and cruelty-free. The products are lower-priced than luxury nail products but are more expensive than the Double Dip products, making these a healthy in between. This business is owned by two women and generates a few million dollars in revenue every year. If you want to support a small business, this might not be the company for you.
The Revel Nail Dip Powder Starter Kit comes with four liquids: a base, an activator, a top coat, and a gel thinner to prevent any of the liquids from becoming too thick. It comes with a tool set that includes two nail files, a buffer block, a cuticle pusher, a powder brush, and a cute bag. It also includes a removal kit that has two nail files, some cotton balls, a nail removal bowl, and a bottle of acetone. Don’t forget the dip powder of your choice! This kit really has everything you need to get started, but the drawback is that the dip powder is only .5oz, and you only get one color. There are 63 colors to pick from with your choice of finish, but we definitely want to play around with more than one color. The starter kit is very well-rated and boasts a popular Instagram-worthy manicure. Most dip powder kits say they’ll last at least 6 weeks, but this one says 3-5 weeks.
2. Dipwell Build Your Own Bundle

Dipwell is one of the most popular dip powder companies in the United States. Located in California, USA, Dipwell has one of the more unique product options compared to its competitors. With over 200 color options, Dipwell boasts non-toxic, cruelty-free, and vegan formulas. They offer a bunch of color collections, dip liquids, and nail accessories. The prices are fair but to be expected for a mass-produced product line. Dipwell has been in the industry for decades, but their website seems a little cold and Corporate America-y, if that makes sense. In fact, Dipwell was bought by Cacee Inc, an almost ghost corporation that owns multiple nail companies.
The Build Your Own Bundle set is much lower-priced than the OPI set, but you get more. The set includes a liquid collection: a base, a bond, an activator, a sealer (top coat), and a brush softener. It also comes with two nail files, a wooden cuticle pusher, and your choice of three or six dip powder colors, which is why this kit is so close to the top of our list. There are almost 3000 reviews, most of them nice, but a few say that the nail files aren’t very high-quality and the dip powders aren’t consistent. The kit will run you $55 to $80 depending on whether you pick three or six colors. Our favorite part is the extra choice of color options; with the OPI and Revel Nail sets, you could only pick one color. If you want to buy extra dip powders, they’re about $10-12, depending on the color and finish for a 1oz canister.
1. Fairy Glamor Dip Starter Kit

Last, but definitely not least, the Fairy Glamor Dip Starter Kit. Fairy Glamor is a small business based in Texas, USA. Fairy Glamor products are non-toxic, cruelty-free, vegan, and handmade in-house. Fairy Glamor artisan dip powders come in over 200 colors with tons of unique finishes, such as chunky glitters, mattes, glow in the darks, and some even change colors. Fairy Glamor is different because we believe in people, not machines. Our products are made in small batches to create the most interesting and unique dip powders on the market.
The Fairy Glamor Dip Starter Kit is a liquid kit that includes a 2-in-1 base&bond, an activator, and a gel top coat. We use a gel top coat because it provides the greatest protection and the most shine to your manicure, but you can use the base and activator to create a non-UV top coat if you don’t have a UV lamp. This liquid set will run you $30, but the bottles are much larger than our competitors’. We won’t limit you to a set number of colors, so just add to cart whatever you like! We strongly recommend you try out our Subscription Box, which is just $28 a month. You’ll receive two artisan limited-edition dip powders that are never released on our store; just to our special subscribers. You can also check out our full collection; all of our dip powders come in 1oz canisters and are $15 each.
